Howe's Famous Peanut Brittle Recipe
1 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup raw peanuts
1 teaspoon baking soda
Combine corn syrup, butter, sugar and salt and cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Add raw peanuts. Increase heat to high and stir constantly until peanuts become light brown. Remove from heat. Quickly stir in baking soda. Spread thinly on greased shallow pan. Let stand until cold and hard.

Raw peanuts
Soooo happy with George J. Howe Co. I couldn't find raw peanuts in any store. A store said they would order them for me only to order roasted peanuts. They just didn't understand. Raw peanuts
I taught my great niece how to make the microwave peanut brittle using the GH raw peanuts. Two times she has entered her peanut brittle into our local county fair and twice she has won (once for Best in Show and then First Place). They are the best!

Unusual
My Aunt Theda made the best peanut brittle. After her passing a few years ago, I picked up the peanut brittle apron strings, and continued ordering the most important ingredient from GH...raw peanuts. Every year, the peanuts are whole, robust, creamy in color, and silky to the touch, with very little skin floating around in the bag. This year however, the majority of the peanuts were in halves, were much, much smaller, and the bags were littered with skins that I had to sift through and remove. Although I was disappointed with the unusual quality/appearance, the flavor was just as good as every other year. I'll be back for more!
